The art of trying, by Paulo Coelho
When we start working on our dreams, we always feel afraid. We wonder
if there are rules to follow. Who comes up with these rules, while we
all live such different lives? If God created the giraffe, the elephant
and the cat, and we try to learn from his example, then why would we try
to follow one rule or another?
Sometimes rules help us avoid the mistakes others have made before
our time, but more often than not a rule will only make us repeat what
someone else has already done.
Rest assured. Trust the universe, and look forward to surprising
yourself. The apostle Paul said, “God chose what is foolish in the world
to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the
strong.” The wise know some actions repeat themselves. They regularly
encounter the same problems and situations they have dealt with before.
Knowing that makes them sad. They start to think they’ll never be able
to grow, since whatever they experienced before is happening again.
“I’ve already been through this,” they complain to their hearts.
“That may be true,” their hearts reply, “but you haven’t mastered it yet.”
The wise understand that repetition has a cause: to teach the lesson
that still needs teaching. Repetitive situations require different
solutions every time. The one who fails must not see this as a mistake,
but rather as a step toward greater self knowledge.
It’s like Thomas Watson said, “Would you like me to give you a
formula for success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of
failure.”

Some things I just can't understand
(picture taken from http://edge1.pokerjunkie.com/img/?id=6044)
I know that all happens for a reason, that everything is meant to be and all that but really... right now it is sooo damn hard to accept it. I mean, I came here, I had dreams, illusions and now I have to go back, probably being a teacher which is something that I don't want. I can't understand. In here I was happy. I don't mean that in Portugal I'm not but I really feel that in here I am learning a lot and I don't think I have learnt everything yet. I need to stay here, I need to learn a bit more. I need to take Actionscript course, I need... I just need to be here a couple months more. But how? Life can be really complicated sometimes. I just can't understand this. Hope one day (and not far away) I will understand. So far I don't feel like a total looser but can't say I'm a winner either can I?

The Artist
Great movie, great theme, great actors... the only thing I didnt like that much was the music so loud. Think they could be a little bit better on that. But loved it so I totally recommend it :)
Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break.

Song for a friend, Jason Mraz
I just love this song. No words needed :)
well you're magic he said
but don't let it all go to your head
cause i bet if you all had it all figured out
then you'd never get out of bed
well no doubt
of all the things that I've read what he wrote me
is now sounding like the man i was hoping
to be
I keep on keeping it real
cause it keeps getting easier he'll see
he's the reason that i'm laughing
even if there's no one else
he said you've got to love, yourself
he said you shouldn't mumble when you speak
but keep your tongue up in your cheek
and if you stumble on to something better
remember that it's humble that you seek
you've got all the skill you need,
individuality
you've got something
call it gumption
call it anything you want
because when you play the fool now
you're only fooling everyone else
you're learning to love, yourself
yes you are...
yes you...you...you
and there's no price to pay
when you give and what you take,
that's why it's easy to thank you
you...you
you...you...you
let's say take a break from our day
and gettin back to the old garage
because life's too short anyway
but at least it's better than average
as long as you got me
and i got you
you know we got a lot to go around
i'll be your friend
your other brother
another love to come and comfort you
and i'll keep reminding
if it's the only thing i ever do
i will always love you
you...you...you
you...
It's true I love it's true
It's you I love it's you I love it's you it's you I love
It's true I love it's true I love it's true it's you I love
It's you I love it's you I love it's you it's you I love you I do
It's you I love
It's you I love it's you I love it's you it's you I love
It's true I love it's true I love it's true it's you I love
It's you I love it's you I love it's you it's you I love you I do
I'm in love in love in love
I'm in love in love in love
It's you I love its you
It's you I love I love I love
It's you I love I love I love
It's you I love I love I love Oh...
[instrumental interlude]
[choir]
climb up over the top
survey the state of the soul
you've got to find out for yourself
whether or not you're truly tryin
why not give it a shot
shake it take control
inevitably wind up
findin for yourself all the strengths
you have inside still risin'
X3

climb up over the top
survey the state of the soul
you've got to find out for yourself
whether or not you're truly tryin
why not give it a shot
shake it, take control
and inevitably wind up
findin for yourself all the strengths
that you have inside of you

A better life con Demián Bichir
Demián Bichir esta nominado a Mejor Actor con esta pelicula y la verdad es que se merece el premio. Me encanto la pelicula y como llore en el final.
La pregunta que me ha hecho pensar : "Why do poor people have kids?" Y esta pregunta la hizo el niño ... no la pierdan ;)
By IMDb
"A gardener in East L.A. struggles to keep his son away from gangs and immigration agents while trying to give his son the opportunities he never had."

Tomorrow - The Cranberries
And while we wait for the album, lets listen to the singles they released already...
This one is called TOMORROW and, as always, it is AMAZING. Just love them :)
I think that you're mad,
You spend a lot of time in your head.
I know that you're mad,
You spend a lot of time in your head.
If you could come away with me,
You should come away with me,
You should have some faith in me.
Tomorrow could be too late,
I wish I could change the day.
Tomorrow could be too late,
If only you had some faith.
Too young, too proud, too foolish,
Too young, too proud, too foolish.
You ask a lot of questions,
You have too much time on your hands.
To hell with conclusions,
Why should we make so many plans?
So should come away with me,
You should come away with me,
You should have some faith in me.
Tomorrow could be too late,
I wish I could change the day.
Tomorrow could be too late,
If only you had some faith.
Too young, too proud, too foolish,
Too young, too proud, too foolish.
So great,
I wish I could change the date.
Tomorrow could be so great,
If only you had some faith.
Tomorrow could be so great,
I wish I could change the date.
Tomorrow could be so great,
If only you had some faith.
